WALK TO REMEMBER was conceived by the members of Peace and Love Proclaimers (PLP) to empower the youth of Rwanda and around the world to take a stand against genocide. We use the walk as a platform to educate the youth about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. This commemorative event incorporates walking from one point to another, symbolizing a journey from a dark past to a hopeful future. The footsteps taken during the walk signify taking action against divisionism and genocide ideologies, while also honoring the journeys endured by victims attempting to escape killings against the Tutsi community.
