CMU-Africa is here to support and foster students' intellectual and personal growth. While CMU-Africa students work hard in the classroom, they have plenty of time to get involved in student clubs and extracurricular activities. Clubs bring students together to share topics of mutual interest. These clubs often supplement coursework through engaging in social events and guest lectures. Student clubs are open to all individuals, regardless of gender, race, or national origin.
The mission of the Data Science Club is to enable students to develop their skills in data science and machine learning by providing an environment for them to learn and work on collaborative or individual projects. The club seeks to expose students to different potential fields, create a network of like-minded people, and connect the students with industry leaders and partners.

Le Verbe du Technicien is a platform for learning and teaching the French Language. The main goal of the French Club is to assist students to improve their French while having fun so that they can take advantage of opportunities in French-speaking countries.
The IoT club is a hub that nurtures the enthusiasm and creativity of Tartans to position them as Africa's principal leaders on all things IoT and solve problems in the African context. The club helps members hone their skills in IoT and unleash their creativity through hands-on projects and activities. They provide a platform for students to be linked with IoT companies in order to propell their careers after after graduation and provide a platform for faculties to showcase their research in IoT.
The Research Club works to promote collaboration between faculty and students on research. They ensure that students know of all the support available for them if interested in research during their study period in CMU-Africa, bridge the gap between faculty and students, and raise awareness of support for African researchers in different fields.
The Software Engineering and Cybersecurity Club is a platform CMU-Africa students to to equip themselves with world-class professional practices and principles (mainly applicable to software engineering and cybersecurity) but also transferable to other various engineering disciplines. The club does this through architecting and developing software and security projects for secure and automated business processes.
Techy Talkers is a branch within the global Toastmasters International Club, where leadership and communication skills are honed. They provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.
The mission of the Women in Technology Club is to develop and empower women in the field of information technology through training, provision of industrial opportunities and enhancement of leadership skills. The club works to build an empowering and supportive community of women at CMU, gives back to the community, and building partnerships.
The Student Services office at CMU-Africa meets regularly with Student Guild leaders to discuss students' ongoing needs and to develop ways to enrich the student experience.
