N’guessan Yves-Roland Douha is a postdoctoral research associate at Carnegie Mellon University Africa (CMU-Africa), focusing on AI-driven digital healthcare and developing human-centered technologies to address health challenges across Africa. His research integrates human-computer interaction, behavioral analysis, and intelligent decision support systems to build secure, inclusive, and impactful solutions for caregivers and healthcare professionals.

He holds a Ph.D. and a Master of Engineering in Information Science from the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in Japan, a master’s in IT security and web technologies from ESATIC, and a bachelor’s in software engineering from ETIC in Côte d’Ivoire. His doctoral research focused on human-centered cybersecurity in smart home environments, using game-theoretic models and cross-cultural insights to encourage secure user behavior. During his Ph.D., he served as a teaching and research assistant, and he interned at KPMG Ignition Tokyo, where he developed synthetic data models to support secure machine learning using homomorphic encryption. He also trained in academic English for STEM at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa to enhance his scientific communication skills.

Before joining CMU-Africa, he worked as a control systems engineer at Honda R&D Japan, contributing to model-based design for intelligent vehicles. He currently serves as a reviewer for Elsevier's Computers & Security, and he is passionate about leveraging AI to address health and development challenges in Africa through ethical, inclusive, and user-centered innovation.
