Sascha Griffiths

Sascha Griffiths’ research and teaching focus is on human-robot interaction, cognitive systems, socially interactive agents, and human-centered AI. He is particularly interested in how people perceive and interact with artificial agents, and how intelligent systems can become understandable, trustworthy, and useful in real social contexts. Before joining CMU-Africa, he held research and teaching positions at Bielefeld University, the Technical University of Munich, Queen Mary University of London, and the University of Hamburg, and worked in industry as an AI consultant and startup chief technology officer.
