Course description

The fundamentals of medical image analysis will be explored, leading to current research in applying geometry and statistics to segmentation, registration, visualization, image understanding, surgery planning, and more.

Students will develop practical experience through projects using state-of-the-art toolkits and machine learning methods. We will explore software tools related to privacy, HIPAA compliance, and medical workflow management.

The course will be graded on three individual programming assignments, one team project, and two surprise quizzes. You would be exposed to tools that use C++, PhP, Python, and Java. For graded assignments/projects C++ will be used as the programming language, and Linux will be the computing environment.
