Guest speaker: Paulina Jaramillo

In 2021-2022, the IPCC released its 6th Climate Assessment Report. The report, divided into three sections, provides the most comprehensive overview of the physical science of climate change (Working Group I), the climate impacts on human and natural systems (Working Group II), and mitigation opportunities (Working Group III). Paulina Jaramillo was a coordinating lead author for the transportation chapter of the report by Working Group III (mitigation). In this talk, Dr. Jaramillo will discuss her experience as a lead author, the process of drafting the report, and the results of the assessment. 

About the speaker: Paulina Jaramillo is currently a professor of engineering and public policy at Carnegie Mellon University. Jaramillo is also the co-director of the Green Design Institute at CMU, a fellow of the Scott Institute for Energy Innovation and Research at CMU, and a research affiliate of the Kigali Collaborative Research Center. She also holds a courtesy appointment at CMU-Africa.
